Fun, Effective Pilates Reformer Workouts
SARAH'S CLASSES
Group Reformer Pilates Classes
The Pilates Reformer is an elegant machine which provides finely tuned Pilates exercises, with resistance - allowing you to work more deeply to develop core strength and flexibility. Our classes are kept small with just 5 people in each session, so everyone receives personal support.
Many of the Pilates Reformer exercises are done lying down on the carriage with the head on the adjustable headrest and the feet on the adjustable foot bar. The carriage is moved by pushing against the foot bar or pulling the straps or ropes at the other end of the reformer.
The carriage glides back and forth along the inside of the frame, responding to the effort you exert and the amount of resistance set up by the springs. Other exercises can be done sitting, kneeling, or standing on the carriage.
Group Pilates Reformer Jumpboard Classes
Reformer Jumpboard classes bring HIIT to your Pilates workout!
Do you want more cardio in your workout but are afraid your joints aren't up to it? Jumpboard will improve your core strength and stability, give you a huge endorphin high and it's gentle on your joints. Jumping on heavy springs seriously fatigues muscles in your lower body – creating that great burny feeling. Lighter springs fire up your deep stabiliser muscles around your spine, pelvis and core (why hello abs of steel!). This class is great for improving foot health too, as it works on mobility, stability and effective shock absorption, helping minimise the risk of future injuries.
Perfect if you’re looking to up the challenge or add a little variety, as this one is tough! The workout involves lots of jumping and kicking, as well as lifting and rotating movements, to push you hard and make your body sweat.
Reformer Pilates Workshops
Throughout the year we organise Reformer Pilates and Jumpboard workshops, which can be attended as one-off sessions. For details of upcoming workshops check the website or use the contact form to be added to our newsletter mailing list.
